The chef and civil rights icon passed away Saturday surrounded by her family and loved ones according to a written statement released this morning.

Jazz Fest has had its fill of controversy following the cancellation of May 2 headliners, and largest draw in decades, rock legends The Rolling Stones due to frontman Mick Jagger needing heart surgery. Fleetwood Mac was available and willing to fill that void confirming a few days ago that would lend their prestige to the 50th Anniversary celebration in the Crescent City, with all the hype surrounding these miraculous turn of events it seemed the day was saved.

Just In: Fleetwood mac to replace the rolling stones at jazz fest

After days of nail-biting anticipation, organizers with Jazz Fest have snagged the band Fleetwood Mac to replace The Rolling Stones on May 2nd. The abrupt cancellation of The Stones’ performance, along with the postponement of their world tour, was due to front-man Mick Jagger needing to have a heart valve replacement around that time.
